The Ganga is India’s most important and the Longest river of India. At Devprayag, it is joined by the Alaknanda river. The Sundarban delta is formed by the super confluence of the Ganga, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers. It derives its name from the Sundari tree which grows in marshland. It is the world’s largest and fastest growing delta. This delta serves as one of the largest reserves for the Royal Bengal tigers.
